Our EACVI board endorsement for Gianluca Pontone and Rodolfo Citro – EcoCardioChirurgia®

Dear colleagues,
we are pleased to endorse the candidacy of two friends and supporters of  EcoCardioChirurgia® at the next elections to the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) board 2024-2026.
They are Gianluca Pontone candidate for the office of Presidency and Rodolfo Citro candidate for the position of Councillor for Echocardiography.

We have had the privilege of knowing and collaborating with Gianluca and Rodolfo and we have had the opportunity to appreciate their professionalism, their scientific depth, but above all, their ability to disseminate knowledge in the cardiovascular imaging fields, one of the main missions of EcoCardioChirurgia®.

Gianluca PontoneGianluca Pontone is an outstanding cardiologist and radiologist, with very high skills in the field of integrated cardiovascular imaging, an excellent teacher and scientist (h-index 66). His major contributions to the cardiology community have come from his work as officer of the EACVI, SCCT and SIC.
He is actually Director of Perioperative Cardiology and Cardiovascular Imaging Department, Centro Cardiologico Monzino IRCCS, Milan, Italy

 

Rodolfo CitroRodolfo Citro is an outstanding clinical cardiologist, a highly skilled echocardiographer (particulary in pediatric echocardiography and structural heart desease evaluation), an exceptional teacher and scientist (h-index 45). The echocardiographic community has greatly benefited from his contributions when he has played a pivotal role as an officer of the SIECVI and as a member of the ESC WG on Takotsubo Syndrome and Valvulopaties.
He is currently professor of Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Molise in Campobasso.

We are deeply grateful to Gianluca Pontone and Rodolfo Citro for their willingness to offer their talent, time, and expertise to the continued growth and organization of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.
